We adopted a notion that since we work here and live here, we should give here too. Our company started with young families who grew together and supported each other. It was important to us that we extend that support to other children and families in our community. By helping to improve even one child’s life, we hope it will have an ongoing, positive impact on his or her life. As we continue to grow, so does our desire to give back—whether it’s through donations, spreading awareness or sharing our time and abilities. Below are some of the ways we do this.

Sunshine Acres provides a bright spot in kids’ lives

Since 1954, Sunshine Acres has provided a home for more than 2,000 at-risk youth who were separated from their parents. Known as the “Miracle in the Desert,” Sunshine Acres currently houses more than 80 children in group homes on their 125-acre Mesa campus. Following their steadfast beliefs in never soliciting financial support, the organization remains completely privately funded through community support.

When we heard about the great things Sunshine Acres is doing for kids in need, we were eager to help!

For many non-profit organizations, it’s rarely a top priority, nor is it realistic, to spend their already limited funds on upgrading their IT environment. We made a commitment to Sunshine Acres to help them with their technology needs. Together, we work toward creating a cost-effective infrastructure that effectively supports the organization’s daily operations and creates additional educational opportunities for the children in their care.

Smile Train changes lives one smile at a time

Smile Train is an international children’s charity that focuses on solving a single worldwide problem. Every year, more than 200,000 new babies are born and faced with a cleft lip and palate. Developing a truly sustainable model with a “teach a man to fish” methodology, Smile Train has helped elevate the standards for cleft patient care around the world. This has resulted in helping more than 1.5 million children in over 90 countries receive the treatment that they need to correct their cleft lip or palate. Children who receive this treatment are left with immediate results—giving them the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life through improving breathing, speaking, hearing, eating and removing them from living in isolation.

When we learned about Smile Train, we immediately knew we wanted to support this organization. With one donation, we were able to give a four-month-old boy the ability to not be held back by a disability in her future. After  seeing the results, we knew we could help change the world one smile at a time—or at least for that one smile, change his world.
